Is Influencer marketing getting outdated?

Influencer Marketing

Influencer marketing is designed to endorse the product or service through people who have some level of expertise in that particular domain. Creators usually have an existing community of people following them and brands uses this set audience to promote their product. Although it’s not necessary to have the expertise and it can be done through a trial of the product by the influencer and then sharing their experience about the product.

Influencer marketing has several types like product placements (which one can see in several movies/web series), social media mentions and sponsored reviews, running contests by influencers like giveaways (example below), webinar/interaction with the influencer, etc.

-Example of how giveaways help you increase your reach and followers too.

Going by the statistics and interests, most of the people nowadays spend more time on social media platforms than watching Television because of which there has been an upsurge in the content produced by people (social media influencers) which has led to increase in brands approaching these people and it will just increase with time. As we can see there is a direct relationship between all these factors. Instagram remains the top priority when it comes to influencer marketing but Youtube and Facebook are not fair behind with this and TikTok is the new rising star since it is gaining huge popularity amongst the youth. (Although there is a lot of controversy surrounding TikTok nowadays)

Apart from that, more independent digital media has only led to more product placements which increase the recognition of a brand and increase its reach.

For example, OLA drives TVF’s permanent roommates and if you watch this series, you’ll see how subtly they have promoted OLA.

All in all, influencer marketing is a relatively cheap kind of marketing with really effective results and is not getting out of the game anytime soon.
